New Michael Jackson album cover released
Michael Jackson fans were allowed a glimpse of the back cover of his forthcoming album today, showing a silhouette of the singer covered in a patchwork of images of him delivering energy-packed performances.
The artwork for This Is It displays an outline of Jackson clutching his signature trilby hat to his head in a typical mid-dance pose. The front cover of the album has already been seen and shows the singer with his arms outstretched. Jackson died in June aged 50, just weeks before his 50-date comeback concerts, also titled This Is It, were due to start in London. The two-disc record, due for release on October 26, contains songs included in a new documentary film about the singer. The first disc will boast the original album masters of some of Jackson’s biggest hits, arranged in the same sequence as they appear in the film. The disc will end with two versions of a new song, also called This Is It, which features in the film’s closing sequence. The second disc contains previously-unreleased versions of some of the artist’s classic tracks and a “touching” spoken word poem entitled Planet Earth. The This Is It song will receive its first air play on Monday and will be delivered to radio stations amid tight security.
The album will boast a 36-page, commemorative booklet featuring exclusive photos of Jackson from his last rehearsal. The complete tracklisting to the new This Is It album has also been revealed:
